Asylum Collection is the result of an unique collaboration between the two Dutch designers Bo Reudler and Seroj de Graaf.
Many good things are born out of coincidence, as was this collaboration. Still during their studies at the Arnhem Academy in the Netherlands, Bo Reudler and Seroj de Graaf had to cooperate on the design of products for an exhibition in the Museum of Modern Arts in Arnhem. At first they were sceptical because of their different personalities. It turned out that not only their personalities are very different but also their skills and knowledge. They complete each other and the cooperation was a huge success.
Their internships at Marcel Wanders and Richard Hutten was the next important step in their collaboration as Bo, who liked the poetic concepts and experimental designs of Marcel, did his practicum at Richard’s studio and Seroj who felt familiar with Richard’s sense of proportion and visual clarity went to Marcel’s studio for his internship. This made them understand each other even better. So that’s how a poet and a technician developted a shared view on design and cooperate ever since. After their graduation in 2005 their efforts in design are extended with their own studios from which they are working on individual projects. The official launch of the Asylum Collection took place in Milan during the ‘Salone Internazionale del Mobile’ 2006.
